I'm not entirely sure what I was thinking when I internally committed to the idea of--without interruption, mind you--writing a flash fiction story a week. In the other blog on this site, I allowed myself a break every seven weeks or so. These entries have been much harder. They've needed--to some degree--to make sense. Gasp.
I've already made modifications to that goal. The original restriction on these stories was that none of them would exceed 500 words in length. In the middle of the conniption fit that was the writing of "The Five-Day Rental of the Horrible Moth Woman," that dictum had to go.
So, I'm going to give myself permission to skip a week. I have, at the time of this story, three unpublished stories written and waiting a bit of polish before posting. This is not the end of this little experiment of mine, but only the beginning...
But you gotta live, you know?
